Almost half of all Britain's small businesses (48 per cent) have sealed a deal while using mobile technology, a new poll reveals.
New research from Ipsos MORI and Research In Motion (RIM) suggests that mobile technology is helping firms to do business more easily and cheaply.
The survey of 150 owners of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK also found that 69 per cent felt that they were responding to clients more quickly, improving business relations, even when they were out of the office.
Small businesses are using mobile technology to improve their competitiveness, to win business and keep up with customer demands.
Charmaine Eggberry, EMEA managing director of RIM, said: "The research shows that mobile solutions are key to the success of SMEs in the UK and across Europe, so adopting the right tools and procedures from the beginning are key to long-term success."
A survey by YouGov found last year that SMEs are increasingly embracing mobile technology. Industry expert Colin Duffy of the Internet Telephony Services Providers' Association (ITSPA) recently stated that voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services are particularly useful for smaller firms, enabling them to communicate effectively and cheaply on the move.
MLS can help small businesses to reduce costs with affordable serviced office space and services.
